Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:

Identify the conceptions of justice embedded in the central schools of political philosophy and their relation to law.
2.
Recognise the political discursive processes that define the constitution of law and the emergence of its structuring and interpretive principles.
3.
Critically analyse the development of political conceptions of justice into coherent normative principles aimed at addressing specific constitutional issues and institutions.
4.
Critically analyse political conceptions of justice through deliberative processes that test consistency of reasoning, correctness of fact, and accuracy of judgement.
5.
Evaluate the role that political conceptions of justice play in the structure of legal reasoning.
